It was a brush with skin cancer a few years back that first made Gucci radically rethink her stay-the-day-outdoors approach to summer. “I love going in the water—and everything looks better when you have a little color—but the quality and health of your skin really suffers,” she says. “These days, I’d rather be safe.” Her current game plan involves plenty of sunscreen—and Cover Swim’s stylish UV protective swimwear. “I have six of these!” she admits of the Dallas-based label’s fitted long sleeve maillots, which take the worry out of extended beach or pool adventures.

Crafted from specially constructed recycled microfiber, they offer UPF+ 50 protection that blocks 98% of UV rays.  Classic prints like a crisp navy striped crewneck best-seller are flattering enough to be worn alone for paddleboard outings or paired with denim shorts for poolside weekends. “The fit is really nice and they’re sporty and chic, so I don’t feel like I’m compromising," says Gucci. Made with zero-waste heat transfer printing in Los Angeles, they’re also eco-friendly “and they’ve just started doing kids!” If that’s not good news for beach babes—and beach babies!—we don’t know what is.
