Q: How do I Conceal a Blemish or Spot?

Breakouts are like ex-boyfriends—always popping up when you least expect it. Fortunately, it's easier to make them vanish: "What do you do when you have one massive spot right in the middle of your face?" muses Gucci, who has a technique for targeting blemishes and even post-acne hyper pigmentation.

First comes skin prep: Gucci layers face cream over treatment oil and lets it soak in to hydrate the compromised area and soften any dry edges.  Then, she gets to work using two complimentary shades of Vital Skin foundation as concealer: Picking up a small precision brush with a gently rounded tip, she dabs on a slightly apricot-based shade that's just a little warmer than her natural skin tone (in her case, that's Atelier IV). After tapping it on top of the spot to neutralize distracting brownish redness, Gucci follows with a second foundation shade that's a true match (Atelier II) so that the sleight of hand becomes imperceptible. A quick dusting of loose translucent powder sets things in place—and before you know it, problem solved.  Here, watch her mini-tutorial on the ultimate instant spot coverage.
