Since first meeting Anne Hathaway on the set of Vogue's January 2009 issue over a decade ago, Gucci has frequently collaborated with the Oscar-winning actress who just starred opposite Jared Leto in Apple TV's mini series WeCrashed. Be it for a Bulgari campaign, the premiere of Ocean's 8, or, most recently, Interview's Collier Schorr-lensed Summer 2022 cover, every opportunity has been memorable.

"Anne's [look] can be really ingenue and pure... but she can also be quite sexy and juicy in a way that you don't expect," Gucci says in the latest episode of "Behind the Covers." For this shoot, that translated to climbing ropes, lifting weights, and bench pressing (a nod to the iconic 1952 photograph of Marilyn Monroe), all while coming across astonishingly strong and sultry, with makeup to match.

Gucci set to work with a handful of complexion-perfecting Westman Atelier products, including two shades of Vital Skin Foundation, Face Trace in Biscuit, and Super Loaded in Peau de Pêche, which created a chiseled, lit-from-within effect. Meanwhile, for Hathaway's smoldering stare, she enlisted an inky liquid liner, a trio of luminous Eye Pod eyeshadows, and the Eye Love You Mascara (applied on only the top lashes). A sweep of translucent setting powder, courtesy of Vital Pressed Skincare, provided the finishing touch—because, naturally, sweat was part of the equation: "She was actually doing all the moves!" says Gucci. "She was really impressive."
