It's the countdown to Valentine's Day and Kate Bosworth is feeling ready for a major makeup moment. "[Michael's] going to walk in and be like 'oh my gosh, she's not roaming the house in sweats!" she says, referring to her husband, director Michael Polish, with a laugh. The couple, who founded Make Pictures together a few years back, are partners in work and life. Most recently, they're also co-creators in Bring on the Dancing Horses, a modern-day Western drama (starring Bosworth!) that's currently in production.
When she's not in front of the camera, Bosworth is curating content for her new lifestyle platform, KIND.EST. After coping with the loss of her grandmother, she was inspired to create a kinder "little corner of the internet" that's all about connection—highlighting people, places, brands that make mindfulness and integrity central to their mission.
True to form, a quick surf through KIND.EST provides plenty to dig into: a high-spirited chat with Netflix powerhouse Bozoma Saint John on women's equality; a guest essay on transgender identity by actress Arisce Wanzer; and an open letter from Bosworth to her husband, Michael, on their 7th wedding anniversary. Far from reading cheesy, Bosworth's reflection on marriage is honest, thoughtful, and vulnerable—a "put-yourself-out-there" combination that the actress has found both scary and gratifying in her time creating KIND.EST.
Oh, and then there's that Blue Crush reunion—an epic Zoom session that brought her back together with co-stars Michelle Rodriguez and Sanoe Lake to the undisguised joy of her 1 million-plus YouTube followers. There are also plenty of Bosworth's skincare tricks and makeup discoveries. Which brings us back to that Valentine's Day beauty tutorial. The actress’s take on date night makeup includes a luminous rosy glow with bronze-gold accents using layers of our glassy new Brûlée highlighter, Baby Cheeks blush on eyes and lips, and a final pop of tomato red using the Lip Suede palette for a dreamy, diffused crimson lip. Plus, a sneak peek at a new product launching very soon! Trust us—it's impossible to look away.
