"Where do I even begin?" Gucci laughs, reflecting over twenty-five years of friendship with actress, entrepreneur, and now television-host extraordinaire Drew Barrymore. Introduced by Cameron Diaz in the '90s, Gucci remembers bonding with Drew over their love for Mexican food and insider beauty secrets.
Memorable jobs like Drew's makeup for the Charlie's Angels world tour and a series of Harper's Bazaar covers followed, one of which was an early precursor for a striking Lancôme campaign featuring Barrymore in sky blue eyeshadow during Gucci's tenure as the beauty brand's International Artistic Director. "Another favorite was a shoot for Pop Magazine where Drew had slick, wet hair and makeup that took cues from Elvis."
A passion for international food and travel defined their adventures over the years. "We explored Chile for two weeks on Cameron's MTV show, Trippin', and went on many girls trips from Napa Valley to Tulum. We love a balance of fun activities, like cooking classes, or a yoga retreat."
Then came the major milestones. "At my wedding, Drew read a beautiful poem, and I'm so glad to have been there for her special moments, too. We had the best time at her 40th birthday party. Now, of course, we're both moms," Gucci says. "She's the most open, giving person who's always the first to show gratitude. Her energy is infectious."
The friends' latest reunion took place on The Drew Barrymore Show, where they talked easy makeup secrets and the Squeaky Clean lip balm shade that gives an instant skin-brightening boost. Watch the full video below to see the big reveal!
