When Gucci was playing around with the sheer, tinted shades in Les Nudes—the new Lip Suede palette launching today exclusively on Westman-Atelier.com—she was on a clean beauty mission. "The perfect nude is hard to create," she reflects. "It's not gray, it's not yellow, it has a tiny bit of a pinkish undertone. It doesn't make your lips disappear, it doesn't make you look dead. It makes your skin come alive."
Two years spent experimenting with precise pigments ratios and skin-nourishing actives finally yielded her goal: four sheer lip colors that can be worn alone or custom mixed to create an ultra-flattering nude that's uniquely tailored to any skin tone. There's Warm Rose, which Gucci calls her "everyday go-to" for bringing out rosiness, and Mulled Wine, a refined deeper version of a natural lip tone. On the cooler end of the spectrum, Peony is a soft nude pink that makes lips fuller, while Café Crème is "the really beautiful 60s mod beige" that inspired the exact shade of Lip Suede's striking lacquered compact.
