If anyone knows anything about getting it done, it’s Carly Cushnie. The 36 year-old London-born designer, beloved by the likes of Beyoncé and Michelle Obama, runs her eponymous line of timeless, body conscious dresses out of her home in Bed-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. She's also just launched a democratically priced dress collection with Target and welcomed her second baby, Quincy, in April. That makes Cushnie, whose first daughter Santiago is just 16 months,  a mom of two girls under two years.

How does she keep it all together? “I’m not sure that I do,” she says with a laugh of her daily marathon sprint. “But I think it’s important not to beat myself up about it.” With skin so luminous, it's almost distracting, it can be hard to believe Cushnie is anything but supremely well-rested. Here, the clean beauty enthusiast dials up her golden glow and pulls off tomato red lips for “the first time in ages,” while talking postpartum skin freak-outs, low cut blouses—for “easy access” when breastfeeding—and the plant-based oil behind her sublime glow.
