Born in Hong Kong, raised in Sydney, Australia, creative director Yan Yan Chan exudes the kind of easy polish that's synonymous with "lazy girl makeup." But whether she's just out of the shower with a slick wet bob or projecting unstudied polish with immaculate skin and a vintage slip dress, she's never without her Face Trace Contour Stick.
"I keep one of these in my bag even when I'm not wearing makeup," says Chan, who swears by a two-shade contour method that does double duty. First, she dots Truffle, a deeper rich mocha tone, high on the cheekbones and temples for lifting dimension with a hint of sun-kissed warmth. Next comes a straight sweep of Biscuit, a subtle cool beige coffee tone, just under the cheekbones for softly sculpted boost.

Q: What's the first thing you think of when you hear the word 'contour'?
A: "Lift!"

A: "My almond eyes and my cheekbones. They are a reminder of where I come from, my roots, my heritage, and my grandparents."
Q: How does contour play into that?
A: "I always feel enhanced after I contour. I mean, any girl who loves lazy girl makeup— this is your best friend."
Q: What's your shade?
A: "I use Biscuit and Truffle together."
Q: What's your favorite way to wear it?
A: "Sometimes I don't even wear foundation. I'll just apply this straight on my skin and it gives me that natural instant color. The best thing is that it has jojoba oil in it—so it's almost like wearing skincare!"
